September 28, 2024: Visited my hometown of Wakayama for the seventh anniversary memorial service of my late wife. After the service, family members gathered to have kaiseki cuisine together and reminisce about her. In Zen Buddhism, the seventh anniversary memorial service marks an important milestone in the spiritual journey of the deceased, signifying that they have reached a state of complete fulfillment. It was about a 30-year marriage, with almost equal time spent living in Japan and the United States.
